2009 Musikmesse Frakfurt surely kicked off on April 1, 2009.
As Musikmesse Showcase models, three unique limited models are revealed. The S features Camphor Tree Body with Silverworks. The SV does the foil finish inspired by the traditional Japanese “Garahaku” art. The SR7VIISC-BK is an experimental 7-string bass, offering a Low-B to High-E.
New for 2009, Ibanez introduced the Darkstone guitars. On the new style body, Darkstone features all new features functionally and sonically.
Louder in volume, lighter in weight. The new Promethean amp has solved the headache of working musicians. It features CRITICAL functions in order to deal with various situations and requirements in a live environment.
The Ibanez guitar accessories feature the original designs such as Tree Of Life, Shark Tooth or the Tribal patterns known for its guitars.
The Ibanez celebrates the 20th anniversary since the first PGM model was introduced. With Paul, Ibanez has continuously launched the various PGM. And for his talent, one model was not enough to celebrate the occasion, here introduced are PGM100RE, the reissue of the first PGM model and Paul's current main axe, the PGM-FRM1 Fireman. And one more model has been decided to be reissued by customers voting, will be released during the Messe show.

The new RG3620Z comes with the Super Wizard neck, an exact reproduction of the original RG550 Wizard neck from 1987 and the DiMarzio Air Norton and Tone Zone pickups.
All SR Prestige models are now made in Japan and feature the Bartolini pickups and newly developed Power Curve III 3-band EQ.

In 2009, Ibanez presents the new Artcore hollow bodied guitars with unique artwork. The Exotic Explorer features the navigational chart of maritime while the Neo Western does the line art inspired by the modern Western art.
The Troubadour acoustic guitar amps are all remodeled with the classy look and portability based on the immersive sound.
Ibanez electronics provides variety in its effect pedals and tuners that satisfies wide demand. The new for 2009 are the AP9, Analog Phaser, PU20, Clip tuner with backlit LCD display and more color availability on some tuners.
RG Creations do not slow down. The motifs of new RG420EG are Transformer and Beehive and are dark skull and airport’s runway on RG320PG.
The arched-top RGA models are now fitted with newly developed Ibanez original LZ active pickups and EQ.
Besides the new anniversary models, the new PGM401 also debut. Andy Timmons signature is re-launched based on his long time favorite, AT100.
New for 2009, Ibanez is proud to present the Signature of Peter Iwers from In Flames. The bass is built to take anything that comes its way. Paul Gray(Slipknot), Mike D’Antonio (Killswitch Engage) and Paul Romanko (Shadows Fall) renewed their finishes and design also.
Ibanez ATK basses now come with the rosewood fingerboard option in 3 finishes including the eye-catching Mint Green.
ART expands the line with the new ART300, features the Caiman finish, a unique texture created by the scalloped top, and the flat top version, ART80.
One of the oldest Ibanez original shapes, the AR series extended the coverage from Prestige to more affordable range with the same beautifully made arch and neck-set.
The JTK series refreshed for 2009 with a more vintage look. JTK30H features hollow-body.
The new ARTB100’s classic looks are enhanced by an arched top and refined body binding.
The SRX lineup was totally renewed for metal. Brutal yet effective.

Paul Gilbert and Ibanez introduced the Paul's new 20th anniversary model at Musikmesse Frankfurt. This model, PGM300 was chosen by customers' voting through Ibanez website and will be reissued as a limited edition. Customers voted their choice among 9 PGM models Ibanez released during the 20 years.
